Laminate Tools History

Laminate Tools version 1 was launched in January 2002, as a simple viewer of files created by the MSC.Patran Laminate Modeler module.

Version 2 followed one year later, incorporating three additional powerful modules for ply import, FEA property generation and results post-processing.

Version 3 was released in April 2004 and added full functionality for draping simulation, thus giving it the freedom to operate independently and offer a wider audience the benefits of global ply usage from design, through analysis, to manufacture. The core of the application shares the exact same source code libraries used within a popular industry-standard product, which have been used and validated by hundreds of specialists since 1991. Now, the same functionality, plus many more features, is available in a stand-alone Windows application in the form of Laminate Tools, offering exceptional value for money and flexibility to meet your particular needs.

Version 3.1 (February 2006) mainly added support for the native Ansys input/output formats, extending the applicability of the application and bringing affordable ply-based modelling to the Ansys community.

Versions 3.2 to 3.4 (January 2007 to January 2009) brought a number of significant performance enhancements and usage improvements.

Versions 4.0 (January 2010) and 4.1 (February 2011) introduced a new Geometry module and COM automation interface, opening the way for many new features.

The latest version 4.2 (March 2012) comes with many enhancements and usage improvements, mainly on Ply definition. This release offers once again unparalleled value for money.
