Product description (CoDA version 3.3)

CoDA is available as seven independent, but integrated, modules. Further modules are being developed and validated.

Overall Features

  • The implementation design is fully object-oriented, allowing easy, yet complex, generic or user-specific future enhancements.

  • Multiple database files can be open simultaneously.

  • Groups of structural properties and supporting information are saved in database files and restored as needed.

  • Any type of results can be displayed simultaneously on any number of independent windows.

  • The desktop layout of the various working windows can be saved for easy return to a particular problem, even when working with computer screens set at different resolutions!

  • The user interface includes dockable toolbars, flying tooltips and context (floating) menus.

  • Drag-and-drop copy operations between CoDA files can be used for any database object.

  • Multi-level Undo and Redo functions, as well as a timed Auto-Save feature ensure data safety.

  • Application-wide as well as file-specific user preferences offer a consistent working environment.

  • Spreadsheet-style interactive solutions and results updates save you time.

  • A convenient custom screen font is used to display standard engineering symbols.

  • There are no limits to the database size.

  • Objects in the database can be locked against changes.

User Interface

  • Tabular or Graphical presentations of results can be obtained as needed, with full control on plot scales.

  • Text interfaces for data quantities can be used to import or export information and communicate with other applications.

  • Text interfaces for results can be used to export results to files or to the Windows clipboard for instant transfer to spreadsheets, word processors, or custom application software.

  • There are interfaces to LAP, to LUSAS and to NASTRAN. Custom interfaces can be supplied.

  • Generic reports can be defined to obtain professional quality printed output of text and graphics efficiently.

  • The contents of any window can be printed instantly in isolation.

  • Print preview is available for any printing operation.

  • A unique Trace window gives detailed information on the internal calculations.

Instant Support

  • Help is available in the familiar Windows hypertext format.

  • The supplied printed documentation explains how to use the software, offers useful tips and covers all theoretical background.

  • Additional support is just a telephone call away.

System Requirements

PC with Intel Pentium or compatible processor, Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP, 64 Mb RAM, 15Mb hard disk space, high resolution display recommended, floppy disk and CD-ROM drive for installation.

NOTE: LIMITATIONS MAY APPLY TO CERTAIN FEATURES AND RESULTS, for example ribs are not available with circular panels, or beams are not automatically analysed if composed of composite multi-directional lay-ups.
