3D Creator is a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) that uses infra-red emitters and sensors to track wired or wireless probes of various sizes and shapes, according to the application. It works with software from well established inspection and reverse engineering providers, such as Aberlink 3D and PowerINSPECT, with links to many common CAD packages such as SolidWorks and Rhino.

It is a portable system that can be conveniently set up anywhere in a factory or office and its wireless probe provides fatigue free use for long periods of time.

What does 3D Creator do?

The 3D Creator digitizes 3-Dimensional objects in real time. Using a cordless or wired hand-held probe, x, y, z coordinates of the object are obtained by tracing surfaces and edges, or by touching individual points such as corners and reference positions. This information is input into a CAD or CAM program for graphics display and object manipulation.

Applications include Part-to-CAD inspection, reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, robot control, and more.
